People’s Council for Social Justice (PCSJ) is a socio-legal organization ,established in 1985 as the brain child of of late.Justice V.R.Krishna Iyer, eminent jurist and former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, for protecting and promoting human rights of the citizens of Kerala, by extending legal aid to the needy & indigent . PCSJ is the pioneer organization of Kerala which initiated settling cases out of court through mediation and negotiation under the patronage of socially committed judges, advocates and activists
Kum.Justice P.Janaki Amma, Founder President of PCSJ,led the organization for 15 years. Under her able leadership PCSJ grew into an organization of international repute.
PCSJ diversified its activities by adopting multidisciplinary strategies with a multipronged approach for uplifting the downtrodden & vulnerable especially women, children, aged,destitute, Scheduled caste & Scheduled tribe etc. Legal literacy mission aiming total legal literacy for the people of Kerala is another pioneer program of PCSJ From July 2000 to March 2001 Sri.Justice T.Chandrasekhara Menon was the President. from June 2001 Sri.Justice K.John Mathew is the President.
